Character : The ROCK
For our Six Cs of Education Unit we have chosen Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson as one of our people to represent character.
He has become the most celebrated actor in the world over the past few years. The Rock has shown that hard work really does pay off. The Rock has an extremely busy day and sleeps between 3 and 5 hours a night. He says that he would often sacrifice two hours of sleep for two hours of quiet to be alone.
He is open about hard work being his “mantra”. He has built his empire from very little. As a child he lived through his family being evicted, he was cut from the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL and began building his claim to fame as a wrestler in the WWF (now called the WWE). He eventually moved out of wrestling into the movies. At one point he had just seven dollars to his name, now several years later his net worth is approximately 220 million dollars. His hard work has definitely paid off.
In 2016 The Rock was the highest paid actor at 64.5 million dollars. Through all of his success he has continued to be philanthropic giving back to many causes and people. He has met with many children who are a part of the “Make a Wish foundation” giving back to some of his younger fans.
