21st Century Learning Skills saved my life

No matter how amazing life is, eventually we all hit obstacles.

My obstacle was a mental health crisis in April 2018. That was the end of my classroom teaching career.

I had been teaching 21st century competencies to my Grade 8 students for a few years.

And, these 6 Cs helped me when I was struggling to pick myself up.

That’s why we need to teach these skills to our students.

Because, eventually, we all hit obstacles. And, these transferable skills about character, citizenship, collaboration, communication, creativity & innovation, and critical thinking help us to keep going during tough times.

Cheers,

Mike Fuchigami
