How do you help your students adjust to Distance Learning

April 3, 2020 By Educircles.org Leave a Comment

Let me ask you a question.

How do you help your students adjust to distance learning?

You’re probably going to say encouraging words over email or videos.

That’s fantastic. Connecting with our students is incredibly important at a time when it feels like we are so far apart.

Checking in with our students… Letting them know we’re in this together… Thank you for everything you do for your students.

We can’t forget about our student’s mental health. Sometimes, just providing a stable, safe, familiar learning space can do wonders…

So, does that mean you should ignore the challenges and frustrations of distance learning? No, of course not.

Let’s acknowledge that when it comes to learning, there are great moments and tough obstacles no matter where we are – in a physical classroom or a virtual classroom.

This is a fantastic time to step back and think about thinking. Let’s learn a little bit about how we learn – especially with so many brick-and-mortar classrooms temporarily closed.

Try out this free Distance Learning Survival Kit lesson and let me know how it works for you. I’ve also included step-by-step instructions on how to upload this free lesson to your Google Classroom.

I hope it helps you.

Cheers,

Mike Fuchigami

PS. On April 6 and 7, everything in our Educircles TpT store will be 25% off. This means our 21st Century Learning bundle will be 62% off the regular price if you bought all of the resources separately.
